The d2o platform

Your stack.
One place to run it.

Ship your code, connect your data, and give your next idea a home.
Apps, databases, and storage — together on a platform hosted in Canada.

From code to running apps

Push. Deploy. Relax.

Push your code to d2o and we’ll build it into a running application. With Automatic deployment enabled, successful builds go live automatically. Prefer to choose your release moment? Hold a build until you’re ready.

Web applications & APIs

Run your website, backend, or API with an HTTPS address from the start.

  • Custom domains with automatic TLS certificates
  • Build from source without writing a Dockerfile
  • Deployment history and live application logs

Background workers

Keep queues, bots, and long-running jobs alongside the apps they support.

  • Separate start commands for web and worker processes
  • Share a source build across related services
  • Singleton mode for processes that must run only once

Build with tools you know.

  • Node.js

  • Ruby / Rails

  • Python

  • Rust

A clear path to production. Keep development, staging, and production organized in one project. Promote the same build between environments, or roll back to a previously deployed image.

Keep your data close

The databases you already know.

Create a managed database and attach it to your application. d2o provisions the service and supplies connection credentials through your app’s configuration.

PostgreSQL

Relational database

A familiar foundation for application data, relationships, and transactional workloads.

  • Managed provisioning and app connections
  • Automatic backups
  • Restore assistance through support

Single instance by default. Optional high availability adds a synchronous standby on another node.

Redis

Cache & queues

Keep frequently used data close at hand and support your application’s background jobs.

  • Managed provisioning and app connections
  • Authenticated access
  • Suited to data you can recreate

Single instance. Automatic backups are not currently included.

MariaDB

Relational database

Run applications that use the MariaDB and MySQL ecosystem with a managed database.

  • Managed provisioning and app connections
  • Automatic backups
  • Restore assistance through support

Currently provisioned as a single database instance.

MongoDB

Document database

Store flexible documents for applications with data that evolves as you build.

  • Managed provisioning and app connections
  • Authenticated access
  • Flexible document-based data model

Single-member replica set. Arrange your own exports; automatic backups are not currently included.

A home for your files

Object storage that fits your workload.

Store uploads, images, assets, and exports in S3-compatible buckets. Browse files in the dashboard, use your existing S3 tools, and attach storage credentials to your apps.

Capacity tier

Room for your data.

Capacity storage is intended for large amounts of data without high-availability.

  • S3-compatible access and configurable bucket quotas
  • Private by default, with optional public file URLs

Capacity storage is not replicated across nodes or backed up. Keep another copy of important files.

High availability tier

Replication for greater resilience.

Choose replicated storage for workloads that need protection against the loss of a storage node.

  • S3-compatible access and configurable bucket quotas
  • Private by default, with optional public file URLs
  • Data replicated across storage nodes

Replication protects against node failure. Keep independent backups for recovery from accidental deletion or application errors.

Availability & recovery

Resilience you can plan around.

Choose the right setup for each part of your application. Availability and backup support depend on the resource and how you configure it.

App replicas & autoscaling
Run multiple web or worker instances, or scale automatically with CPU usage within limits you choose. Singleton apps run one instance and briefly stop during deployments.
Highly available object storage
The HA storage tier replicates data across nodes. Select it when creating a bucket that needs node-failure resilience.
Database availability
PostgreSQL supports optional high availability with a primary and a synchronous standby on separate nodes. MariaDB, Redis, and MongoDB currently run as single instances.
Database backups
PostgreSQL and MariaDB are backed up automatically, with restores coordinated through support. Redis and MongoDB do not currently include automatic backups.

The everyday essentials

More than a place to deploy.

The tools to run your projects, understand what’s happening, and work together are part of the platform.

Secrets & configuration

Manage environment variables and secrets across your organization, projects, and environments. Attach databases and buckets without committing credentials to your code.

Logs & metrics

Follow application logs, inspect deployments, and track resource usage from the dashboard. Open a console or run a one-off command when you need a closer look.

Team access

Organize work into projects, invite teammates, and assign roles and group permissions. Review administrative activity in your organization’s audit log.

Dashboard, CLI & API

Manage resources in your browser, stay in your terminal with the paas CLI, or integrate platform operations into your own tools through the API.

From first push to your next release.

Bring your apps, data, and team into one workflow. Deploy, monitor, and manage each environment from a single dashboard.

Your next project starts here.

d2o is currently invite-only. Resource capacity and available environments depend on your plan. Public signups are coming soon.
